The NC dela Cruz Home of Pili Delicacies is a SET-UP assisted project from the Province of Northern Samar. The enterprise specializes in pili based home delicacies. DOST provided technical assistance in the form of technology acquisition and provision of other technical consultancy assistance.
TAPS Handmade Paper is located at Tanauan, Leyte and is another SET-UP beneficiary who availed of the assistance for the acquisition of additional equipment for the production of novelty bags and handicrafts made of natural fibers such as tikog, romblon, and abaca. The SME has also availed of continious technical and consultancy assistance from DOST.
Cocovine Enterprises from Tabon-tabon, Leyte specializes in coconut based vinegar production utilizing the accelerated vinegar production technology of the Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI-DOST). The SME was provided fund support by DOST-SETUP for the acquisition of the equipment used in vinegar production. Today Cocovine supplies the finest coco-vinegar in Eastern Visayas.
Gonzaga Venture produces virgin coconut oil (VCO) and other coconut products. They also produce other novelty products from wood and costume jewelries from shells and other indigenous materials. The SME hails from Quinapondan, Eastern Samar and was assisted by DOST with the improvement of its packaging system for the VCO product line. The packaging support include improvement of label design for VCO and bath soap and procurement of initial packaging materials such as PET bottles and labels. SET-UP also helped the SME acquire a coco-milk extractor used in VCO production.
Barcelo Wines produces the best coconut wine in Barugo, Leyte. The enterprise received technical assistance from DOST SET-UP through consultancy to improve their production systems, GMP, and the label design of its products.
Gina's Cakes and Pastry in Samar is another enterprise supported by the DOST-SETUP through the acquisition of tools and equipment to improve their efficiency in the production of cakes and pastries.
Bahandi products are made by different SMES throughout the region.
